Lions Club of Yong Peng - Club Visit

On 26th July 1997, my Regional Chairman and Zone Chairman drove me to Yong Peng (from Muar) to attend a business meeting of the Lions Club of Yong Peng. The club members had deliberately arranged for their meeting before lunch so that I could join them for a hearty meal.

The session was rather lengthy as the members posed many questions regarding Lions International. To me, that was a very healthy trend and I tried my best to answer each and every query.

Yong Peng which means “everlasting peace” is noted for their delicious Fuzhou cuisine. Their duck noodles and Fuzhou fish balls are already well known in the southern states. Our sumptuous lunch was at Elegant Restaurant. It gave me an opportunity to get to know the members better. After lunch we spent an hour or so at the Yong Peng Old Folks Home. The LC of Yong Peng then presented them with groceries.
