On 26 February 1998, I had the pleasure of attending the regular meeting of the Lions Club of Krian. Zone Chairman Dr. Foong had reached out to ask if I was free and interested in joining the session. Naturally, I welcomed the opportunity with enthusiasm—it’s always a joy to connect with fellow Lions.
Dr. Foong accompanied me to the meeting, which was chaired by President Dr. Marik Singh. Upon arrival, I was warmly introduced to the attendees. What struck me most was the presence of many young members—eager, curious, and ready to engage. Their energy was refreshing, and I looked forward to the conversations that followed.
As the meeting progressed, it became clear that the club could benefit from stronger orientation and structured training. With the right guidance, these Lions had the potential to deepen their commitment and expand their reach—bringing meaningful service to more individuals in the Krian community.
I also recognized several veteran Lions—pillars of the club whose dedication had stood the test of time. Their presence was a quiet reminder of the strength that comes from continuity and mentorship.
After the meeting adjourned, we gathered for a group photograph—a moment of unity and shared purpose. Among those I met was PP Choong Yen Choun, a long-serving Leo Advisor whose contributions to youth development were well known and deeply respected.
It was a visit that reaffirmed my belief: every club, no matter how young or seasoned, holds the potential to grow, inspire, and serve—when guided with heart and vision.
