Tanjung Indah

Lions Club of Tanjung Indah
2nd Charter Anniversary & Twinning Ceremony

On December 12th, I was invited to the 2nd Charter Anniversary and Twinning Ceremony of LC Tanjung Indah (LCTI) and Lions Club of Kluang (LCK) held at the Shangri-La Hotel in Penang.

PCC Mario Yoong, whose home club was LCK, had traveled from Kluang to witness the signing of the sisterhood alliance on behalf of District B1.

The ceremony was a celebratory occasion, as this signing aimed to promote international understanding with both clubs and allowed for collaborative projects. It was a joyful event, marked by the exchange of gifts among the club officers.

Such gatherings were instrumental in fostering strong connections through shared initiatives and camaraderie. In my address, I expressed my anticipation for their ongoing partnership, which enhanced their relationship and advanced the mission of 'To create and foster a spirit of understanding among the peoples of the world.'

Pearl of the Orient – Project Moon Cake Festival
Lions Club of Pearl of the Orient - Fund Raising

The Lions Club of Pearl successfully organized a meaningful and creative community project in conjunction with the annual Pesta Tanglung & Kuih Bulan celebration during the Mid-Autumn Festival.
President Linda Moo said that this project was the club’s ongoing commitment to service, innovation, and community support. She reaffirmed the primary objective of the event was to raise funds for underprivileged families while promoting cultural celebration. To distinguish the event from other fundraising efforts, the club undertook the challenge of producing the largest mooncake, made possible through generous sponsorships from community partners and businesses. The mooncake was sold in portions to well-wishers and attendees, with proceeds directed toward charitable causes. The event was officially officiated by YB Lim Gim Soon, whose presence added prestige and support to the initiative. During the officiating, I complimented Lions Club of Pearl of the Orient for its originality and community spirit in organizing such a thoughtful and impactful project.

The goodwill and enthusiasm from the community exceeded expectations as many were ready to come forward to buy the cakes.
