When I heard that Lion Poh Ah Chooi had graciously agreed to continue as Club President, I knew I had to be there. It was more than a duty—it was a chance to uplift a club that had weathered many seasons. I was equally pleased to see Koay Ewe Sneah, a steadfast old-timer, take on the role of Club Secretary.
After the formalities of the installation ceremony, I delivered a heartfelt speech, urging members to invite their friends to join the Lions movement. Growth begins with a single conversation, and I hoped to spark many that night.
But the evening didn’t end with speeches and protocol. The Lions took to the dance floor, and the room came alive with music, laughter, and the kind of fellowship that no agenda can capture. I reconnected with dear friends—Tan Swee Kok, Leong Weng Khuan, Chua Eng Ham, Yeap Mok Fei, Tan Boon Peang, and Low Ah Leng, the ever-reliable Treasurer.
It was a night of joy, remembrance, and renewed spirit. So memorable, in fact, that it found its way into the local newspapers—a testament to the enduring heart of Lions service.
