Lions Club of Raub

Lions Club of Raub - Club Visit
Raub used to be famous for its gold mines in the early 20th century. Raub is a malay word that means “scoop” as the early settlers used to scoop for gold with their dulangs (trays). Today, it is more well-known for its Musang Kings. And of course, the cool and idyllic Fraser’s Hill.

The Lions Club of Raub in Pahang had its fair share of contributions to the local community. I was pleasantly surprised when the members organised a wonderful photo exhibition just for my visit.  The exhibition showed a plethora of the club’s charity events throughout the years. Their endeavours didn’t go unnoticed as they achieved the Lions Outstanding Award for 1989-1990. Very impressive indeed!
I saw with my own eyes their meaningful projects. There is a saying that a picture is worth a thousand words. I left that evening with a renewed sense of purpose. Sometimes, the smallest clubs carried the biggest torch. In the quiet corners of service, the true roar of Lionism was heard.

My visit to the club was to motivate and inspire the club members to go up another notch, or even several notches. As Lions, we should not rest on our laurels but aspire to serve!
