Lions Club of Taiping Bunga Raya - Installation Night
On December 19th 1997, I attended the Installation Banquet of the Taiping Bunga Raya Lions Club (LCTBR) at Legend Inn. My role was to install Lion President Ng Swee Chin along with his Board of Directors. LCTBR is well-regarded, having had distinguished Past Presidents such as Dato’ Hussain Mohamed Osman and Ivan Tio Joon Guan, both of whom were appointed as Honorary Presidents. There were about 100 attendees to show their support. I was pleasantly surprised to find that a majority of the attendees were non-Lions, yet they came to lend their support to the Lions' mission. Because of this, I kept my speech short and sweet to the liking of their ears.
