District 308B Lions Convention (Extract of DG's Speech)
"This is a historic occasion. Many years from now, we will tell our grandchildren and grand-grandchildren that we were part of the historic event of the Lions' Tradition. This marks the last time we will have a District 308B Lions Convention.
Our district has gone through many successful years and has grown over time to enable us to achieve our motto of "We Serve as We Care". This convention is very special to me personally as I look back to the past and I feel extremely grateful for what we have achieved. It is a big family, considering we have 9 Regions and 19 Zones in the district. However, we work together as a unit and family to enable us to accomplish many projects such as Sight Conversation and Work with the Blind, Youth Exchange, Education Services, International Understanding, Environmental Services, Recreational Services, Health Services, Public and Social Services. These are a tremendous amount of work and efforts and exemplifies what we believe in "We Serve Through Teamwork"
I hope the sub-districts will continue our excellent traditions and bring better lives, a better environment, and better services to our country and community not only in this century but also in the next millennium."
